Back in 2015, I had a Ted Cruz sticker on my car, but Donald Trump became our hero as he gathered the momentum to steer our great ship of state. A few years later President Trump was even nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his good influence in the middle-east. (Had you perhaps forgotten that?) Other world leaders feared and respected him.
I agree with Dr. Phil, who has said the ridiculous criminal charges against Trump were purely political, to keep him from winning re-election. The judge should even have recused himself because his daughter is a Democrat activist.
Hulk Hogan, addressing the Republican convention, called Donald Trump the strongest man he’s ever known.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Pres.Trump’s great presidential press secretary and now governor of Arkansas, also praised him highly at the recent convention.
Now here are some 15 other things that have shaped my favorable opinion of Donald Trump over the last decade:
•He has five well behaved children, who all support him. (And so does Ivana.)
•Mainly because his brother was an alcoholic, he doesn't drink.
•I thought his show The Apprentice was pretty interesting.
•Well before Donald Trump had even announced his run for president—probably in 2015—a guest on Late Night with Seth Myers surprised him by saying that she, a New England journalist I believe, used to enjoy meeting Trump “because he was always so nice”.
•Donald Trump graduated from a good college, the University of Pennsylvania, in four years with a degree in economics. (Rather like Ronald Reagan!)
•Another fellow I heard on radio several years ago commented that Donald Trump, while in college, partied very little, opting instead to go home on weekends and work in the family business.
•Marla Maples, Trump’s second wife, shared an anecdote about a time when they were driving through New York City. The traffic was bumper to bumper and they noticed a couple of men fighting outside their car. Donald Trump jumped out and tried to help the one who seemed to be the victim.
• He’s going to let the 50 states determine their own abortion policy. (This makes sense since it’s not mentioned in the Bible.)
•In 1983, Donald Trump was given the Tree of Life award for his philanthropy in Israel.
•Franklin Graham of Samaritan’s Purse went, at Donald Trump’s request, to pray at the Republican convention, while the Democrats brought a left-wing Catholic cardinal to theirs. By the way, Franklin Graham asked Trump to please cuss less, and the candidate’s humble retort was somewhat amusing; sorry I can't recall the exact words.
Regarding Donald Trump’s past bad behavior—whether real or alleged— I, like Franklin and Billy Graham, believe that people sometimes repent and change.
•In 2016, during his first campaign, Donald Trump spent the full three hours with Rush Limbaugh on his radio show in calm, candid, thoughtful conversation. That may be what he does at his rallies, I don’t know.
•Dan Bongino, former Secret Service agent for President Obama and V.P. Biden, strongly endorses Donald Trump.
• I think Donald Trump showed real wisdom in choosing J.D.Vance as his running mate, who could certainly make a great successor to him. Both men stand against the madness oozing from the transgender movement.
• President Trump’s policies kept inflation low.
•While he was president, Donald Trump donated his $400,000 annual salary, keeping just $1/year. —And yet USA Today’s Molly Stellino criticized him for that because “he still makes money” —from his own businesses! (This is one of the reasons I don't trust the “news” media.)
Fortunately, we now have alternative sources of information such as The Family Research Council’s Washington Stand, where I found the following 101 words: “ President Trump allegedly claimed there were ‘very fine people on both sides’ of Charlottesville’s Unite the Right protest, Biden said, taking the Lord’s name in vain afterwards. Yet Trump said moments later he was not talking about white supremacists and neo-Nazis, but instead about local citizens who wanted to preserve their history.
•President Trump allegedly called Americans who died in uniform ‘suckers and losers,’ although eyewitnesses of his trip to Europe insist the event did not happen.” (Fake news?) • “ That President Trump said, unless he is elected, America will experience a ‘bloodbath,’ an economic term the 45th president applied to the automobile industry.”
Seriously, Garrison, I hope you'll join me in voting for Donald Trump and J.D.Vance and the other Republicans running with them.
